Key Requirements
OSHA 10- and 30-Hour Training
- Nevada requires workers in the marijuana industry to have either OSHA 10 or 30 hour (for managers) safety training. Our OSHA authorized instructors have created industry specific training for your business to keep you compliant with NV OSHA.
On-Site Safety Audits
- Annual hazard assessments are required to identify what can harm, maim or kill workers.
- We provide Mock OSHA inspections and produce a report that covers your specific safety hazards, what corrective measures to create, what you are doing right, and evaluate the site for hazardous materials compliance with OSHA HAZCOM standards.
Safety Committees and EAPW
- We will work with your team members to create the Safety Committee and develop their first four safety committee meetings.
- We will review or write your Emergency Action Plan and conduct an evacuation fire drill with your employees.
Respirator Fit Testing
- OSHA requires a fit test before first-time respirator use and annually thereafter.
- Employees must undergo either a qualitative (sensory-based) or quantitative (measurement-based) fit test to ensure a proper seal.
Proper Respirator Selection
- Employers must provide NIOSH-approved respirators suited to the specific workplace hazard.
- Respirators should be selected based on exposure levels, work conditions, and user comfort.
Seal Checks Before Each Use
- Workers must perform a user seal check every time they wear a respirator.
- A proper seal prevents unfiltered air from entering the mask and ensures maximum protection.
Medical Evaluations
- OSHA mandates medical evaluations for workers required to wear respirators.
- These assessments ensure employees are physically capable of wearing a respirator without risk to their health.
Proper Cleaning & Maintenance
- Reusable respirators must be regularly cleaned, disinfected, and stored properly.
- Damaged or worn-out respirators should be replaced immediately.
Training and Maintenance of Respirators
- Reusable respirators must be cleaned daily and stored away from heat and chemicals. Workers must receive annual hands on training on proper respirator use, limitations, and maintenance. It should include respirator and cartridge and filter selection and how to use them.
